Top Ten Reasons a panorama is better than a single shot image

  1. More compelling feeling of what its like to be at a place
  2. Visitors to your site stick around longer when there is interactive multimedia content like VRs
  3. Being able to move between VRs or link to videos drives interest by providing an exploration experience
  4. Curiosity: labelling of features provides signposts to the scenery which incites curiosity
  5. Scalability: Many more pixels means a much bigger print can be made from the panorama
  6. A panorama can be cropped down to a single shot; but a single shot can't be "grown" to a 360, or cropped much
  7. Multiple uses: panoramas can be experienced as a virtual reality scene or an extraordinary print
  8. Less filtered: a single shot only shows what the photographer thought was interesting or could fit with the lens he/she had at the moment. With a panorama, you see the whole picture.
  9. Surprise: It's more fun since you don't know what you'll see as you spin around
  10. Archive of the Earth: a 360 captures a place at a moment in time far more completely than a single shot.
