It's hard to imagine a better way to show the nature of a City's parks, or an open space preserve, than with virtual reality. A single photo has a limited point of view, such as showing a mountain top; while a visitor to your site may want to see what the other park features are like. With a VR, they can pan around from the mountain view and examine the lake view, picnic area, or trailhead. Also the smooth continuous view a visitor sees from panning around provides a much more realistic sense of what it's like to be at the park. As a result, visitors know better what to expect, and won't waste fuel and time driving to a park only to find out it wasn't what they had in mind.
We have been shooting parks and open spaces using virtual reality for over ten years. A number of cities have hired us to use VR to highlight their recreational opportunities on their websites. We look forward to helping your department better communicate the value of your parks by using VR.
